Oakley SI Shot Show: New Product Introductions

Every January brings another Oakley SI Shot Show exhibitor opportunity. For Oakley Standard Issue, and many industry partners, it is a chance to feature new products for the year.

Hosted by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), Shot Show has become a one-stop-shop for meetings, collaborations, and the first look at all that is new. For those that don’t know, The SHOT Show is an acronym for “Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show,” and features products, technology, notable figures and more.

Oakley Standard Issue is excited to launch two big, long-awaited technology products: The Ballistic HNBL, a low-profile eyewear frame, and the Ballistic Lineminer Snow Goggle.

Oakley SI Shot Show New Addition: Standard Issue Ballistic HNBL

Pronounced ‘Hannibal,’ this frame is the most recent edition to the ballistic capable lineup for Oakley SI. A full-orbital frame, SI Ballistic HNBL is an eyewear platform for everyone. The low-profile design and easy lens exchange allow you to seamlessly transition from on-duty to off-duty. HNBL is optimized for performance, and meets the high impact standards for Mil Spec 32432A and ANSI Z87.1. “Not every operator in the field wants a ballistic shield design,” says Senior Director of Military Erick Poston. “HNBL is different not just from a style perspective, but a technology perspective. Ballistic Rx capable lenses are the next evolution, and this frame will support that technology.”

HNBL also contains Prizm™ Lens Technology, offering both low-light and bright-light shooting lens options. Clear and Grey are also available. The frame features a lightweight, high-wrap design with thin stem technology and molded icons. The frame design is suited for industrial prescription lenses, as it is easy to exchange the lens and fit almost any prescription. All sun lenses feature Oakley High Definition Optics (HDO®) and meet high mass and high-velocity impact requirements.

The Oakley SI Ballistic Line Miner™

It’s no secret artic warfare is a hot topic. Military forces throughout Europe have been conducting operations in arctic climates for decades. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for this climate is at an all-time high. The rise in this demand from the international community and the USA helped define the problem statement. Fundamentally, soldiers needed a rugged, large field of view goggle for the snow and cold. Additionally, the soldiers required a goggle with lens technology to protect against unwanted glare and any blunt or high-velocity impact. This gave rise to applying military technology to a commercial snow goggle and put the team to work.

The SI Ballistic Line Miner is a dual vented ballistic goggle and exceeds MIL-PRF 32432 impact standards. First, the goggle frame provides a vast field of view. Next, the goggle has Prizm™ Rose and Prizm™ Black lenses for options based on sunlight, giving a great contrast and depth perception in snowy environments. Clear is also available. The Line Miner goggle provides the ultimate peripheral vision with a cylindrical design. We were able to pull the goggle in closer to your face than ever before, allowing for incredible downward and side-to-side periphery. With a large-sized fit, Line Miner is optimized for many faces and is engineered to fit perfectly with most helmets.
